A Seminar for Japanese Language School teachers (A/L)

A seminar for Japanese Language schoolteachers (A/L) organized by the Research Center for Japanese Studies of the Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on the 20th of July 2017 at Kotahene Sri Pragnakeerthi Memorial Hall. The schoolteachers representing more than 80 schools attended the seminar.

The purpose of this seminar was to introduce a new literature part for the G.C.E. (A/L) Japanese textbook and to obtain comments from the schoolteachers on the newly introduced literature part. There were not only eye-to-eye conversations but also questionnaires to discover what teachers really think about the upcoming literature part. Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Dilrukshi Rathnayake, the Head of the Department of Modern Languages and Ms. Naho Komatsubara, Honorary Visiting Lecturer in Japanese, Japanese Language specialist conducted the seminar and enlightened the audience with their important lectures. The academic staff members of the Department of Modern Languages and the schoolteachers participated in this event.
